Module 1: Understanding Competitive Strategy

This module introduces students to the critical concepts of competitiveness and industry dynamics, inspired by foundational theories of competitive advantage by Michael Porter collaborating with the globally renowned Porter Institute, a leader in the study of competitiveness. Students will engage with frameworks that provide insights into achieving sustainable competitive advantage in competitive markets.

This module emphasizes the differences between leader and manager, providing
students with a perspective on managers who focus on operational efficiency and leaders who focus on vision and changes. Students will explore the critical distinction between two roles in a company: leader (change and direction) and manager (order and consistency), enabling them to understand, choose, and excel in their roles within organizational environments.

This module focuses on the financial pillars of an organization, equipping students with knowledge to manage risks, investments, and compliance effectively. It highlights the indispensable role of CFOs in guiding company expansion, stability, and innovation through sound financial stewardship.

This module integrates the principles of ethical leadership and sustainable business
practices to address global challenges and promote long-term value creation. It introduces the concept of VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) to help students understand and adapt to the dynamic forces shaping the modern business environment.
